Dear Stakeholders

BGT University, Ratnagiri (Estd: 1989) is one of the Maga Open University in India catering to the aspirations of more than 5,00,000  learners in Maharashtra. The university was established under the dynamic leadership  Vice-Chancellor & father of  education in Maharashtra. It was started with 800 learners in 1989 and subsequently reaching out to more than 5,73,925 distance learners today under the democratic & vibrant leadership of  the present Vice-Chancellor.

The University earned a unique distinction of reaching out to unreached sections of society like farming communities, Tribal Communities & Rural Communities empowering them to progress with the technological advancements in Agriculture, Industry, Services Sector & Rural Development. The University has received International Award of Institutional Excellence in Open & Distance Education from Commonwealth of Learning, Canada successively for two times in 2002 & 2019.

The University was determined to go for NAAC Assessment & Accreditation in the first cycle of Institutional Accreditation for the period from June-2016 to May-2021. Happy to share that the  University successfully faced NAAC Assessment & Accreditation committee and Accredited with “B” Grade. 

I would like to thank for active participation of all stakeholders from Academic Staff, Non-academic staff, Regional Centers, Study Centers & their Management in the mission of developing reliable, dynamic & sound system of Open & Distance Education that will reach out to last mile learners in our country providing him opportunities to progress with main stream…
